Amber Sheppard (she/her) is a local attorney here in Slidell who focuses on

her dog Tubbs, have been published nationally and serves as legal counsel for “mom and pop” start-ups, international brands, and nonprofits in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Amber has been named
40 Under 40 and Best Attorney in East St. Tammany by EDGE Magazine five years in a row. She was featured in Sophisticated Woman Magazine as a top Northshore Attorney, writes a bi-monthly column on Working Dog Laws for the publication, and was recently named Best Attorney for East St. Tammany for 2022 by their readers.
In
2022 and 2023 she was awarded a pro bono award by the Louisiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association for her free legal work in the community.
She has
presented to the Louisiana Bar Association on service and emotional support animal laws. For the past four years she has conducted state-wide presentations on family law as part of Lawyers In Libraries for the Bar Association.
Amber sits on
multiple national trademark committees for the American Bar Association and is a member of the
International Trademark Association. She is a committee member for
Wills For Heroes for the Louisiana State Bar Association and a frequent contributor, committee member, and CLE presenter for
Louisiana State Bar's Legal Services for Persons with Disabilities Committee.
Amber is a
proud ally of the LGBTQ+ Bar Association and a
certified Safe Space Advocate for folx of all kinds.
She is currently working alongside the 22nd Judicial District Court through her nonprofit
Be Fierce & Kind Canine, Inc. to implement a landmark therapy dog program in the Child In Need of Care, Juvenile Delinquency, and Mental Health courts.
