New Year, New You But Remain Fierce & Kind

It's time for 2020 and with a new year comes new resolutions for some of us. It's wonderful to set goals for yourself, whether it's for you personally or for your business. But often times we get caught up in what we aren't rather than who we are.

So here's my annual reminder for my Slidell Louisiana lawyer blog readers: stay fierce & kind. Remain true to yourself.

Tubbs and I are so fierce and kind we melded into one person during our Covington, Louisiana lawyer website photo shoot with Gabrielle Hail.

1. Losing weight doesn’t make you any better. Gaining weight doesn’t make you any worse. Food isn’t your enemy nor is it your savior.

2. You can want to improve your health but just don’t forget that your pant size, scale number, waist circumference, amount of exercise a week, medical conditions, etc do not define you. None of that is your entire identity.

3. You can make lifestyle changes but remember you’re beautiful/strong/handsome as you are right now. And you will be on every step of whatever journey you choose.

4. Don’t body shame yourself or your friends. Focus on your health in beneficial ways; remember to smile, make others laugh, and just be fierce & kind. Oh— and smile for your pictures. Your children, significant others, and friends want to cherish those moments with you. Don't hide yourself.

If anyone is wondering what my New Year Resolution is, it is to walk Tubbs more. Because 3 miles a day apparently isn't enough for my 50 pound couch potato. Tubbs' resolution? Eat more treats.

I think that's we call balance here in the South.

Tell me and Tubbs what you hope will happen for you, your family, or your business in 2020 below in the comments. If you love this blog you can share it online and follow us on Facebook (Amber's page , Tubbs' page) or Instagram (Amber's account, Tubbs' account).
